MTN media agency tender out soon
After a 13-year partnership with its current agency OMD, MTN will be issuing a tender for a new media buying agency in the second quarter of 2007. OMD has indicated that it will not be pitching for the business.
“MTN has embarked on a phased approach in regard to issuing and renewing contracts with all its suppliers to ensure compliance with sound corporate governance principles,” says Bernice Samuels, GM: marketing and corporate affairs.
“OMD has been with us from the very beginning and we have enjoyed a mutually beneficial and professional relationship throughout the 13 years we have been together. The remarkable tenure of our relationship is an endorsement of the good work that they have delivered for MTN throughout this time.”
OMD is due to wrap up at the beginning of June 2007, by which time the selection process for a new agency will have been completed.
MTN recently signed on The Jupiter Drawing Room as its new advertising agency, having gone through a tender process in November 2006.
