New exco
The Creative Circle announced in December 2011 that Chris Gotz, Ogilvy Cape Town's ECD, is to take over from Brett Morris as chairman of the official representative body of the South African creative community. Many of the 2011 exco have been retained, with a few new additions.

Gaby de Abreu from Switch is the Design Council representative.
Gotz began his career 16 years ago at JWT in Cape Town. He went on to work at AMC Hunt Lascaris (which became DDB South Africa and then Gavin Reddy) before ending up at Ogilvy Cape Town, where he was appointed ECD in 2007. He has produced award-winning work for some of SA's biggest brands including MTN, Audi, Nestle, Volkswagen, Old Mutual, Kraft and SA Breweries.
During his two-year tenure (2012/2013), Gotz will be responsible for liaising with fellow industry bodies, networking with international awards organisations and advancing creative excellence in the advertising industry.
Bursaries and mentorship programme
Morris, who served as chairman for two years, said during his tenure he had realised the dire need for more mentoring of younger creatives and also to avoid them jumping ahead of their potential and missing out on valuable experience. Thus, one of the highlights of his term as chairman was the launch of the Creative Circle's bursaries and mentorship programme.
