Designed to be the first of its kind in the country, the institute, with fully installed array of state-of-the-art IT equipment, admits both first level students and highly skilled professionals for its wide range of courses.
The school, which has over 150 training slots, according to the design, is the first of such to offer a truly e-learning facility in Nigeria. Its first office was opened to customers at Isolo, Lagos, recently.
"The good thing with Makau Polaris is that the individual has the opportunity to learn at his own pace. He is not being measured with the same yardstick as the next person who probably came in at the same time," the Managing Director of the company, Olaminiyi Ayodele said.
He added that the pace of completing a chosen course would depend largely on how much time an individual chose to put into studies, adding that the flexibility of the programmes allowed the individual to choose what was best for him.
With a strategy, which focused mainly on IT training, the company Ayodele said was positioning itself as a leading provider of IT education and certification in Nigeria.
This initiative is coming at a time when students and Nigerians in search of training have continued to complain about the high cost of IT education at the few reputable institutions around.
A preliminary study reveals that training obtained from Makau Polaris places trainees at a special advantage to get better employment and promotion than their peers.
That explains why Olaminiyi said, "We guarantee absolute quality. We pledge cost effectiveness. We promise capability. With all these come the knowledge that our students would only become better and achieve better results with whatever they are doing after being with us."
Banking on its array of courses, which covers areas as wide as leadership development through sales empowerment, down to professional IT courses and basic computer appreciation, Makau Polaris is promising that new knowledge could be used in dealing with the trainees' everyday life situations.
Workshops could be requested by organisations wishing to train their employees through the centre. All these come with the full complement of IT training materials.
