Grazia Shopping Awards 2011 winners announced
Chanel and Mimco picked up two awards each across a number of categories in the Shopping Awards, while Myer pipped David Jones to take out the Favourite Large Retailer award with Target coming in third.
Almost 20,000 Grazia readers voted across 11 categories with a special judge's award voted by a panel of four fashion industry experts, including Grazia editor Kellie Hush.
Grazia readers named Melbourne as the fashion capital of Australia over Sydney with Chapel Street beating Westfield Sydney and Westfield Bondi Junction. Melbourne retailer Husk also took out the Favourite Boutique Store category with Melbourne fashion label Scanlan & Theodore winning the Favourite Australian Designer award.
In the High Chain Store stakes, Cue beat Country Road and Witchery to take out the top award.
Hush said, "We were overwhelmed with the huge response from our readers. It became very clear early on in the voting process that the Grazia reader is a passionate shopper and is passionate about the labels she spends her money on."
The Judges Choice Award went to Romance Was Born the avant-garde Sydney label championed by Cate Blanchett (picture attached) who recently commissioned the design duo to create the costumes for The Sydney Theatre Company's Edward Gant's Amazing Feats of Loneliness.
