Libya government supports Tripoli intl security exhibition
As Libya enters a new phase in its economic future and development, internal and border security is high on the agenda. This is vital not only for rebuilding and maintaining the internal stability of Libya but also for its lasting effect on North Africa, the Mediterranean and the Arab world. Libya is strategically important in the region due to its geographic location and its significance as a major oil producer.
The North African country is looking to develop a modern security and law enforcement infrastructure, the country's internal security challenges will only be met by drawing on overseas technology and expertise to support its internal security agencies. These include special public security forces; police; fire and emergency services; immigration; border control; coastguard and civil defence.
Securex Libya 2013
In addition to the officials from government agencies responsible for modernising security and emergency services, Securex Libya 2013 will attract procurement visitors responsible for the key point and general security and safety of industrial and commercial installations across Libya's public and private sectors. These include oil, construction and civil engineering companies; public utilities and establishments such as ports and airports; industrial units; hotels; hospitals; universities and tourism sites and facilities.
The exhibition will be supported by a high profile forum programme drawing on expertise from around the globe to present topics linked to the modernisation of Libya's security and law enforcement infrastructure. The programme will be drawn up in close consultation with Libya's internal security agencies to address the country's immediate public and private sector needs and will provide a structured dialogue between purchasing authorities and international suppliers.
The exhibition will provide a unique opportunity for international companies and suppliers of security technology looking to demonstrate their expertise to Libya's security and safety market. Central to the exhibition will be a Ministry of Interior stand with officials on hand for the benefit of exhibitors and exhibition visitors, as well as conference delegates.
