Storm to develop and host World Wildlife Fund website

The development and hosting of the website for the World Wildlife Fund during the Earth Summit has been assigned to local voice, data and Internet services provider, Storm Internet. The Save Our Planet website (www.wwf.org/sosplanet) will be able to handle traffic of more than 4 000 users at one time and will also serve as a communication channel between the public and the attending dignitaries. Responses to issues on the Summit agenda will be transferred to live tickers/electronic notice boards in various venues at the Summit and will also be broadcast around the world in eight languages.

Says Tim Wyatt-Gunnning, Storm MD: "For the first time in history, the public will have the opportunity to air their views online, with the confidence that their leaders will take notice."
Storm will proactively manage and monitor the site, providing the necessary bandwidth on demand and ensuring continuous uptime."
