New appointment to APO's IAB

The African Press Organisation (APO) announced late last week that it has appointeded Violaine Beix, Africa Progress Panel's communications officer, as a member of its international advisory board (IAB).

Before joining the Africa Progress Panel, Violaine Beix was a researcher for Femmes Africa Solidarité and prior to that the linguistic attachée and head of EduFrance at the French Embassy in Bangkok. She holds a Master's degree in Education and IT from the University of Lille III and an MBA in management of International Organisations from the University of Geneva. She is also the co-founder of Hungry Man Books that publishes satires on international development.

"Violaine Beix's position as communications officer of the Africa Progress Panel gives her a unique perspective from which to help APO make critical decisions. I am delighted to welcome Violaine Beix to the international advisory board," says Nicolas Pompigne-Mognard, APO's Franco-Gabonese general secretary.
